In certain circumstances you have the right to restrict the way the controller uses your personal data (e.g. the personal data is likely to be inaccurate, the processing is unlawful, there is no valid purpose of the processing, you have objected to the processing based on a legitimate interest on the controller).
Example:A competent authority is investigating a specific crime, but it appears that personal data about the suspect obtained from a third party is incorrect (eg, date of birth, criminal record).
The authority should not delete this data because it constitutes evidence against the suspect.
However, the use of this data should be limited to the collection of the correct data.
