The Law on the Protection of Personal Data provides for several rights:
- Right to information;
- Right of access;
- Right to rectification and erasure.

Right to be informed
ZZLP provides for the right of every citizen to know what data controllers collect and store about them. The Law also provides for the right of everyone to know for what purpose their personal data will be collected and stored. And in case you know the person or the controller who has your data, you must be informed about the purpose for which the personal data is collected and stored.
For example, if you are a member of a club and have received a membership card, this does not give the club of which you are a member the right to give your data to a sports equipment store without your prior consent.
Right of access/inspection
ZZLP guarantees the right of everyone to find out what personal data is collected and stored about him.
This means that you have the right to address the person or any organization that processes your personal data (bank, store, club, association, non-governmental organization, etc.). If they have your personal data, they are obliged to respond to your request. With this right of access to personal data, you exercise a kind of control over the accuracy of your data. If they are incorrect, outdated, etc. you have the right to request correction of the same.
DZLP does not collect and store personal data for citizens, but only maintains a Central Register of personal data collections maintained by controllers. DZLP can help you in exercising the rights listed above, especially the right to be informed.
The right to request correction and deletion of personal data
ZZLP also provides for the right to prohibit the use of your personal data. This means that you have the right to object to the controller collecting and storing your personal data. You have the right to refuse to provide your personal data or to prohibit their future use. For sensitive data such as health status or religious affiliation, your written consent is required for the data to be collected and stored. Of course, you cannot object to the processing of personal data about you when this is provided by law, (for example, data in your school file).
