On 25.12.2019, the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia elected Mr. Imer Aliu from Tetovo and Mr. Igor Kuzevski from Skopje as his deputy.

Imer Aliu is a law graduate of the Law Faculty of the University of Southeast Europe, Tetovo. For many years he was a deputy in the Macedonian parliament and a former minister and deputy president in the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia. He is currently enrolled in the third cycle – doctoral studies in legal sciences, Constitutional Law at the “Justinian I” Faculty of Law at the University of “St. Cyril and Methodius” Skopje.

One of the first tasks that the new leadership of the Directorate for Personal Data Protection will focus on will be the adoption of a new Law on Personal Data Protection and its full compliance with the new European regulation on personal data protection.
