Presentation of the Strategy for the Implementation of the Right to Personal Data Protection in the Republic of North Macedonia (2025–2030)

On August 11, 2025, a presentation of the Strategy for the Implementation of the Right to Personal Data Protection in the Republic of North Macedonia for the period 2025–2030 was held in Kumanovo. The event was organized by the Municipality of Kumanovo in cooperation with the Personal Data Protection Agency. The presentation was intended for mayors, municipal secretaries, and personal data protection officers from all six municipalities of the Northeastern Planning Region (Kumanovo, Kriva Palanka, Kratovo, Lipkovo, Rankovce, and Staro Nagorichane), as well as for personal data protection officers and IT system administrators from these municipalities and from the Kumanovo Regional Police Department (SVR Kumanovo).

The event was formally opened by the Deputy Director of the Agency, Elena Veljanovska, after which the entire Strategy was presented to the attendees—its goals, implementation approaches, and the methods for monitoring and evaluating the implemented activities. As a continuation, further sessions are planned during 2025 to introduce the Strategy to other municipal employees from each of the six municipalities. These activities are part of the third strategic objective of the Strategy: Continuously increasing the culture of personal data protection.
