
On May 19, 2022, a representative from the Personal Data Protection Agency participated in the international open data conference “Data and the culture of openness” of the Metamorphosis Foundation, which was held within the framework of the USAID Project on Citizen Participation.
The conference was held from May 18-20 in Skopje and consisted of panel sessions, round tables and trainings in which representatives of state institutions and municipalities, practitioners in the field of open data, media, the user community as well as business representatives and data experts participated. from North Macedonia, Western Balkans and the world and shared their opinions, ideas, experiences and challenges regarding the implementation of data sharing activities.
At the conference, the representative of the Agency spoke about the right to privacy versus the freedom of expression and information and about the need for a balance between these two rights.
The goal of the conference was to bring together the open data community to share, learn, plan and collaborate on the future of open data, with special emphasis on the current situation in our country and the Western Balkans region.
