Announcement to the public regarding the content of the Parental Declaration form regarding the MMR vaccine

Due to petitions submitted by natural persons – parents regarding the content of the Declaration form, which must be filled out in connection with vaccination with the MMR vaccine of their children – students in primary schools, and which vaccination will be carried out by the Preventive Teams of Vaccination points at health institutions of the City of Skopje, the Directorate for the Protection of Personal Data informs you about the actions taken in relation to this process, namely:

The Directorate, in accordance with its legal competences, submitted an Instruction to the Ministry of Health in relation to this process of field vaccination in primary schools, with specific instructions given as to what activities should be undertaken by the health facilities in the territory of the City of Skopje in order to comply with the regulations for the protection of personal data that is, consistent application of the regulations for the protection of personal data during the implementation of this process. The guidelines concerned primarily:

• the content of the form of the Statement that primary schools should submit to parents, i.e. it should be corrected in the direction of giving consent by the parent of the child for vaccination with the MRP vaccine, while the same statement should not contain data on the identity number of the parent and the completed declaration of consent for vaccination with the MRP vaccine to be submitted to the Prevention teams from the Vaccination points,

Therefore, until the moment of taking actions by the Ministry of Health in relation to the Instruction sent by the Directorate, we inform the citizens – parents in the meantime, in order to protect their personal data, to take the following measures:

• in the statement for giving consent to vaccinate their child with the MRP vaccine, not to state their social security number,
• to submit the completed statement to the Prevention teams from the Vaccination points at the health facilities of the City of Skopje, i.e. to take organizational measures when delivering it with the data, the information contained in the statement should be known only to the prevention teams that carry out the vaccination process in schools.

In that context, we also point out to primary schools during the process of field vaccination of children – students in their schools by the Preventive Teams from the Vaccination Points at health institutions, to first call the parents to a meeting, where they will be informed when the vaccination will be carried out with the MRP vaccine in schools, as well as which documents should be submitted to the Preventive Teams from the Vaccination Points that will carry out the MRP vaccine vaccination in schools.
